Stephen Roussos is our local Greek Wine Maven. As long as we have Stephen here in Dallas, Greek wine is safe in Dallas! R&R Selections was founded in Texas with the idea that high quality, fine wines from Greece should be widely available in the U.S. market. Stephen was born and raised in Athens, Greece and spending summers at the family home in Santorini, Stephen is no stranger to the quality and diversity of Greek wines. After completing studies at Texas Tech University, Stephen moved to Dallas and taught Ecology at the University of North Texas. Observing a lack of high quality Greek wines in Texas, Stephen began his import company, R&R Selections.

Palivou Estate - Nemea 2016
Grape: 100% Agiorgitiko (Ah-yor-yeé–ti-ko)
Type: Dry Red Wine
Notes: The flagship wine of Palivou, medium-bodied with smooth, soft tannins.
Rich aromatic character with intense fruit and clean aromas of cherries, plums and spices.
Single vineyard selection of 20 – 30 years old vines. This is a benchmark Agiorgitiko from
Nemea that is a classic. Single vineyard selection wine that ages 12 months in French oak barrels (30% new, 70% used).
Food Pairing: Red meats and spiced poultry with rich sauces. Italian and Greek home cooking, venison and smoked meats.

Wine Art Estate - Plano Malagousia 2018
Grape: 100% Malagousia (Mah-lah-gou-zyá)
Type: Dry White Wine
Notes: A full-bodied wine with refreshing acidity and a long aftertaste. The nose is marked by fresh aromas of citrus fruits, honeydew melon, white flowers and bergamot orange.
An almost extinct varietal now very popular and common across Greece for its versatility with food. This one is an exceptional example of a Northern Greece Malagousia vinified in stainless steel to make a crisp and refreshing dry white wine.
Food Pairing: Perfect for spicy soups and fresh green salads. This wine can handle dishes with intense flavors and spices therefore ideal for Latin, Cajun or Thai cuisine.

Markovitis - Naoussa 2015
Grape: 100% Xinomavro (Xee-nó-mahv-roh)
Type: Dry Red Wine
Notes: A high acid and tannic red wine from the area of Naoussa. This wine has rich notes of sun-dried tomato, earthy mushroom and red cherries. The tannins are perfectly integrated and soft. First the wine is put into stainless steel tanks for 12 months, then the wine is aged for 12 months in large, used, Hungarian oak barrels. A wonderful wine with great aging potential.
Food Pairing: A great match for prosciutto pizza, BBQ meats, grilled cauliflower steaks or creamy risotto.

Gavalas - Santorini 2018
Grape: 100% Assyrtiko (A-seér-tee-ko)
Type: Bone Dry White Wine
Notes: Classic white vinification. The free-run juice ferments in stainless steel tanks under controlled temperatures and matures with fine lees for at least 5 months. This is a volcanic, fresh, bone-dry white wine. Delicate aromas of pear, lemon and pineapple on the nose.
On the palate the wine is elegant, smooth, and complex, with bright fruits and a full-body. Given the volcanic terroir, there is a high minerality that adds hints of flint and salt. This is a high-quality classic Santorini Assyrtiko that has great aging potential. The vines are more than 50 years old from Megalochori, Akrotiri and Pyrgos area of Santorini.
Food Pairing: Fresh seafood, sushi, white fish with lemon and cucumber salad.
