Marchesi Antinori Peppoli Chianti Classico Italy '17
Marchesi Antinori is an Italian wine company that can trace its history back to 1385. They are one of the biggest wine companies in Italy, and their innovations played a large part in the " Super-Tuscan " revolution of the 1970s. Antinori is a member of the Primum Familiae Vini and the 10th oldest family owned company in the world.
The 2017 Pèppoli is ruby red in color. On the nose are fruity notes of red and black fruit, cherries, strawberries and blackberries accompanied by delicate balsamic and herbal aromas and a spicy undertone. The palate is vibrant and savory with supple tannins that back up a persistent and pleasantly fresh finish.

Lovely purity of fruit here, especially when you consider the vintage, ranging from citrus to raspberries to iodine. The juicy and succulent tannins are just the right counterpoint to the rather tangy acidity, and this ends medium-chewy and grainy.

Fruity aromas of red berry and plum mingle with whiffs of blue flower and dark spice. Juicy and polished, the palate doles out succulent Marasca cherry, blackberry and clove accompanied by fine-grained tannins. Drink through 2025.
