WINE FEATURE: Brunello di Montalcino

Posted by Jessica Chen on

One of our most beloved regions: Brunello di Montalcino! We carry a wide array of Brunellos from different style producers and different vintages. Check out below for what we have in stock!

Fonterenza Brunello di Montalcino 2014 - Fonterenza was founded by twin sisters Margherita and Francesca Padovani. This is a very limited production Brunello with just 1 hectare of the vineyard dedicated to Brunello fruit. At Fonterenza, they practice biodynamic farming and keep the winemaking influences to a minimum to allow the grapes and terroir to shine through.

Argiano Brunello di Montalcino 2015 -  2015 was a fabulous vintage for Brunello. This Brunello has aromas of bright red cherries, ripe red plums, and beautiful florals. Argiano is led by superstars Sebastiano Rosa and Dr Giacomo Tachis, who combined host an extraordinary resumé with Sassacaia, Tignanello, Solaia, and Chateau Lafite Rothschild. 95pt James Suckling and Robert Parker.

Il Colle Brunello di Montalcino 2016 - A traditional brunello with rustic undertones. Il Colle was founded in 1972 and solely uses natural yeasts, no temperature control, long maceration on skins, and no filtering. This goal is to allow the vineyard to express itself with as little external factors as possible. 94pt Wine Enthusiast.

Frescobaldi CastelGiocondo Brunello di Montalcino 2012 - This Brunello has just come to drinking age! It is a soft and supple expression of Sangiovese with great oak-integrated spicy notes of toast and smoke. The firm full-bodied palate offers ripe black cherry, mature plum, cinnamon, licorice, and a hint of tobacco. Chewy tannins and bright acidity provide support and balance. 94pt Wilfred Wong of, 93pt James Suckling and Wine Enthusiast.

Col di Lamo Brunello di Montalcino 2013 - Col di Lamo is the success of mother/daughter duo Giovanna and Diletta Neri. This is an elegant Brunello with beautifully integrated nuances of new leather, red berries, and tobacco that blossom after some decanting!

Collosorbo Brunello di Montalcino 2015 - Another 2015 vintage, this Brunello is the epitome of a warm vintage with ripe fruit yields. A rustic and robust wine yet with soft and velvety tannins. This Brunello is super approachable right now! 95pt James Suckling and Wine Enthusiast.
